Schneider Umweltservice

Background

Schneider Umweltservice is a Swiss waste management company with around 143 vehicles across several sites. Electrification is already underway: about 30 electric trucks run daily, more are on order, and the pace stays high. With 56 charge points across five depot sites, and a sixth on the way to realisation, the charging infrastructure had to keep up with the fleet.

Challenge

Schneider Umweltservice’s first charging setup had no backend software. Every morning, the same question: are the trucks actually charged? Without transparency and control over the charging process, reliable operations couldn’t be guaranteed. And not every EV manufacturer works smoothly with every charging hardware. Compatibility had to be confirmed, not assumed.

Solution

Working in close partnership with Scania, Erinion delivered depot charging infrastructure across Schneider’s Swiss sites. The solution was purpose-built for the reliability demands of waste management operations, where vehicles run on fixed schedules and every departure matters. A missed departure is not an option. Hardware was selected for proven compatibility with Schneider’s electric fleet. Monitoring and charge management gave the operations team full visibility and control, replacing the daily uncertainty of their previous setup.

Implementation was handled with minimal disruption to operations. Training ensured the internal team could manage the system independently from day one.

Key results

30 electric trucks charge reliably across five Swiss depots, a sixth is being commissioned. Full operational transparency, no more uncertain mornings. And a support partnership with Erinion and Scania that Schneider Umweltservice describes as responsive, solution-oriented, and built for the long run.
