Scania Logistics, a key player in the transport and logistics sector, ensures the seamless operation of Scania’s global supply chain. In line with their commitment to sustainable transport, Scania Logistics is partnering with Erinion to establish a semi-public charging depot in Oskarshamn. This site will support their growing fleet of battery-electric trucks while providing scalable infrastructure for future electrification needs.
Transitioning to electric transport requires a robust and future-proof charging infrastructure that seamlessly integrates into daily logistics operations. The Oskarshamn depot required a scalable solution that would support Scania’s electric truck operations from day one while allowing for future expansion. Ensuring high operational reliability, grid stability, and a seamless driver experience were key priorities.
The Oskarshamn charging site represents a milestone in Scania Group’s electrification journey and is the second heavy-duty charging site developed in collaboration with Erinion. As a Charging-as-a-Service (CaaS) solution, Erinion owns and operates the station, while Scania Logistics and its carriers simply pay for their charging needs—lowering the upfront investment barrier for electrification.
This site is supported by the Swedish Energy Agency (Energimyndigheten), ensuring that charging infrastructure keeps pace with the industry’s transition to electric transport. Phase 1 is set to go live by the end of Q1 2025, with further expansion planned in Phase 2 (2027).
Ahréns Åkeri collaborated with Erinion to establish a semi-public charging solution with a unified payment system, supporting both their fleet and external hauliers.
